The Back-story

In a freak accident three years ago Sherrie Berry, the founder of SkinAgain, suffered first and second degree burns. “It’s difficult to explain just how painful it was. I was especially terrified about what the burn injuries would do to my face,” says Sherrie.

The painful and severe injuries could have easily left her feeling hopeless. Instead the accident ignited the celebrated skin care line, SkinAgain. Berry now creates all-natural skin care products that battle against everything from aging, stretch marks, acne, waxing and of course burns.

The Genesis of SkinAgain

On Christmas Day 2006 Sherrie was relaxing on her backyard patio in San Diego with her best friend. They decided to start a fire in the fire pit. That friend thought she would get things going by using lighter fluid. But the liquid, in a poorly-labeled can was actually nitro fuel, the liquid used in remote control cars. In an instant the fire pit exploded. The chemical explosion left burns on Sherrie’s face, chest, neck arm and hair. “The pain was unbelievable and of course I was worried about scarring,” recalls Sherrie.

Then she remembered the pot of cream Eric Pellaton, a Swiss entrepreneur, had passed on for her to try earlier in the week. “Eric asked me to tell him what I thought and I remember liking the way it moisturized my skin. I didn’t know it was going to end up literally saving my face just days later,” says Sherrie.

“As it began to heal my skin I got to thinking, if this healing cream could do this much for me in restoring my burned skin, what could it do for others?” While the 51 year-old grandmother has some 20 years experience in the field of energy healing, it was after the accident that Berry decided to make the healing cream and SkinAgain her life’s mission.

Product Development

Sherrie’s official job titles at the Carlsbad-based company are Visionary and Product Developer. You could say she’s the heart and soul behind the company. Eric, the entrepreneur who asked her to try the cream in the first place, believed in the cream and needed an avenue to share it with those who needed it.

The retired CEO of a multinational semi-conductor company with over 1,000 employees stays on the edge of the latest developments in biomedical and wellness. It’s what led him to buy the SkinAgain Healing Formula in 2003, after he saw how effective it was in healing patients with severe burns.

“My job is to provide answers for people with skin problems,” says Sherrie. “While our company's infancy focused on burn patients, our product lines are also for men and women who are fighting wrinkles, acne, and stretch marks.”

SkinAgain already has a cult following at clinics, spas, salons, cosmetic supply stores, wellness centers and medical suppliers.

“I had no idea that my terrible accident would lead to all of this. The most rewarding part is hearing from grateful clients. I get to tell them I know exactly how they feel,” Sherrie says emphatically.
