Everything Eats and Poops… even Skin!

People with skin conditions such as acnerosacea, and psoriasis often suffer from constipation and other digestive conditions.  Conversely, people with digestive conditions such as constipation, usually suffer from skin conditions that are linked to pores being ‘constipated’ with the build-up of sticky dead skin cells; conditions like acne, etc.

SkinAgain Skin Product and Skin TreatmentsJust like a sluggish digestion can come from not drinking enough water and not incorporating enough fiber into the diet, sluggish skin can be linked to de-hydration and not incorporating safe exfoliation methods into daily hygiene.

Here are some tips for the skin & digestion:

1.       Drink half your weight in ounces of water per day (If you weigh 150, drink 75 oz of water)… Yes, that much!

2.       Have whole grain oatmeal & honey for breakfast (and while it cooks, take some, mix with honey and exfoliate your face).

3.       Don’t forget to breathe and move………..A LOT!

Try these tips and tell us how they work!

Jealous of that girl with the sparkling skin? It’s possible that look is makeup-free!

In competition with the apple, an orgasm a day may keep the doctor away!  An orgasm is on eof the healthiest things you can give yourself each day.

Take a looksey:

  • Sex makes you glow because it improves blood circulation, which helps to pump oxygen to your skin, eliminating toxins and making it brighter.
  • Just as with people who excerise, having sex reduces your hormone levels and balances them out.  The result?  Clearer skin for those who are acne-prone (along with healthier hair).
  • As you have sex, you are boosting collagen production, which staves off age spots and sagging.
  • Once you hit menopause, your skin quality diminishes and suddenly you may notice your face is extremely dry.  By having sex and getting the blood and oxygen flowing, you can keep dry skin away regardless of your age.
  • A study was done on sex and youth a few years back to prove this point.  In a span of 10 years, 3,500 men and women, both those who had sex regularly and those who didn’t, were put on one side of a two-way mirror, where participants on the other side had to guess their age.  The group that had an active sex life had their age underestimated by seven to 12 years, while some thought the group that only had sex infrequently actually looked older!
  • The same hormones that are released to make your skin glow will also keep your nails strong, especially during pregnancy.
  • Don’t replace your eight glasses of water with eight hours of sex, but having sex will keep your skin hydrated.  Since it improves circulation, the blood will circulate around your body more efficiently, giving your skin the moisture it needs to stay healthy.
  • During sex, you’re giving your face a free facial.  The sweat will clean from your pores the dirt, grime, and makeup residue you miss when you cleanse your face during the day.

Have a Great Valentine’s Day Weekend Everyone!

May All of Us Wake Up Monday Morning with Sparkling Skin!

Skin Product No No’s

Though we’ve entered a hopeful new decade, there are still skin care manufacturers who put inappropriate ingredients in their products, like parabens.

Consider:

Parabens are used at very low levels as preservatives (typically 0.01-0.3%) in a wide variety of personal care products, including hair care, skin care, and shaving products. Frequently, more than one paraben may be used in a single product.

There is little information on levels of parabens in people; more information is needed. However, studies conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) did find methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben in human urine samples, indicating exposure despite the very low levels in products. In whole body application studies in people, Danish researchers have found that butylparaben can be absorbed through the skin.

The parabens listed below are weak environmental estrogens. They also can support the growth of estrogen-dependent breast cancer cells grown in tissue culture.

Names to look for:

  • Butylparaben
  • Isobutylparaben
  • Ethylparaben
  • Methylparaben
  • Propylparaben

Unsightly scars? Get a FREE product just by telling us your story!

We’re in the business of skin and it’s about time somebody talks about a huge factor in skin that is actually the culprit of many diseases and health problems, and yet one that is rarely taken into account in health care practices.

SCARS!

Did you know that when not healed correctly, a scar can cause many blockages in energy flow, circulation and nerve flow?  It’s true!  When scar tissue builds up internally inside of the fascia of the body, it can inhibit circulation of blood and lymph, range of motion, muscle strength and compromise organ and endocrine function.

If you have a substantial scar, it could be wreaking havoc on your health, and you may not even know it!

To a person who has been severely burned, and whose scar covers a massive part of their skin, this is scary . . . and uncomfortable.

Recently, here at SkinAgain, we had the privilege of personally attending a Burn Institute survivor support group.  We found it empowering to hear their stories of courage, pain and survival. Here are a few things we learned about the ongoing challenges they have with their skin.

·         They cannot use anything with perfumes

·         Many of the products are too greasy

·         They need a moisture lotion under silicon sheets that are replaced daily.

·         They need something to use under their compression garments (which they wear for up to a year).

·         Many of them have skin discomfort the rest of their lives.

·         The cost for these products is ongoing…months and years and insurance doesn’t cover any of this!

If you’ve been following us here at SkinAgain, you know that our ongoing charity efforts is going to include giving our product to severely burned persons.

We would love to hear from you too!  Please share your story.  We will pick a winner from the first 10 comments and send them one FREE SkinAgain pHo-tone, a specially formulated healing Serum with over 300 energies to help soften and heal scar tissue.

People of color are the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population.

Brown skin is beautiful and comes in an endless array of tones, from tapioca to cinnamon to deep dark brown.  Darker skin has benefits, but contrary to popular belief, darker skin is not tougher, in fact, this extra melanin makes the skin more sensitive and vulnerable to injury.

The darker the skin the more at risk for dark scarring and hyperpigmentation, so caution and care need to be taken, especially when having mildly invasive skin treatments done, like micro-dermabrasion or chemical peels.

Many common cosmetic procedures are geared toward lighter skin, and it’s only recently, as the country’s ethnic population has grown to 40%, that science is playing catch-up.

SkinAgain Pigment Correct was specially tested for people of color and proven effective for smoothing and evening the skin tone of beautiful ‘Browns’.

EXCITING OFFER!

The developer, Sherrie Berry is so confident and passionate about her formula, she is offering a free Pigment Correct to the first 20 visitors to this blog.

All you have to do is email: info@skinagain.com,  and title your subject “People of Color”.  Of course, all you lighter skinned bloggers are welcome too!  (Don’t forget to include your mailing address in the email!)

Need a skincare tip?

If you are tired of spending money on cellulite treatments; and you have probably figured out that the ‘magic’ common ingredient in all these potions is the caffeine, try this recipe for breaking up fat pockets.

2 cups finely ground organic coffee
½ cup organic sugar
3 T. grapeseed oil
1 T.
SkinAgain pHo-tone

Mix ingredients.  During a hot shower, apply mixture to areas of cellulite using long, circular motions. Shower off.  Apply SkinAgain pHo-tone after showering. Use this at-home treatment three times per week.  According to spa therapists, massaging coffee grounds into the skin can combat cellulite by breaking up fat pockets below the skin’s surface. As the grounds exfoliate, caffeine tightens the skin to give it a smoother appearance.  And always:

• Stay hydrated
• Exercise (no-brainer)
• Minimize sun exposure

(Cellulite really is a skin problem that involves fat. The dermis is the middle layer of skin and is separated from the underlying fat with connective bands of fibrous tissue made of collagen and elastin. When these connective bands weaken, little sacks of fat are able to slip through the holes in the fibrous tissue and push up against the epidermis. This is cellulite.)
