I just went camping in the Sequoia National Forest with friends and fam.
Despite being chased out of our campsite by a bear (no, I’m not exaggerating!), it was the R&R I needed. No mirrors. . .
Sometimes at 51 I find it hard to look at myself. I’ve been on camera a lot lately, so I’m kind of forced to.
However, I am quite happy to be of this age and discovering who I am in my 50’s. After all, old is the new sexy, right? (. . . right??)
Here’s what I’ve discovered I like to do in my 50’s:
1. Bathe, not shower
2. Wash my hair twice a week
3. Exfoliate a lot
4. Act like a puppy
5. Put my sweats on as soon as I get home
6. Have a facial once a week
7. Yoga
8. Selected sex (subject for future blog…stay tuned)
9. Tapping (subject for future blog…stay tuned)
10. Breathe deep
So, to all my 50-something sister/friends out there. . . please comment.
Tell me your 50-something age and the top 10 things you’ve discovered you like to do at this age, and I’ll send the first 20 commenting bloggers a 2 oz travel size of SkinAgain’s Original Healing Cream with peptides to diminish fine lines and tighten skin (and a whole lot of other things too).
Who knows? Maybe we’ll all find some new favorite things to do at 50+!
Peace & Love, Sherrie
Well I’m not in my 50’s but 40 is creeping up on me quickly. The reality of aging has finally slapped me in the face, literally. I remember the days of waking up and not even worrying with makeup. Now I find myself in constant search of beauty products to lessen the effects that time has on the skin. I have researched your product and think that a natural product such as this is just what I’m looking for. I would LOVE to try a sample. =-)

My colleague Martha is always on the lookout for the latest and greatest in wrinkle creams. I’d love to pass on a sample to her as she is in her 70’s and not terribly tech savvy.

Well I am not 50 yet, I still FEEL like I am young (at heart), but aging is definately upon me!! 2 examples, If I buy wine or beer now, they don’t even THINK about carding me! And the most recent thing that happened to me, I was visiting my Dad in my old home town, and as I was walking up to the store to pay for my gas, I heard some teenagers saying, (I didn’t look over at them, so they couldn’t see who I was until I was right at them), “that’s not who that is, that’s, like, an old person or something!” That really sunk in! Altho I am 37, I still have very bad acne. Which is tough to deal with, since I am also combatting wrinkles! So I would LOVE to try your sample! OH, and as for the list of things I like to do now, the main one is to spend time with my 3 teenage girls and see to it that they really enjoy their life at that age, since it don’t stick around long, am I right ladies??

I’m 51 and beginning to love it
Comment by badeiah rivera — November 13, 2009 @ 3:58 am
My whole life chnaged several years ago. In a span of several months – i got divorced, iwas pregnant, lost my 17 yr old daughter, lost my job, moved several times which meant changing schools for the kids. Had a baby (which i get mistaken for the grandma constantly) We have worked thur grief counseling – I was working several jobs, 4 kids at home and met a wonderful man. 50 looking pretty good now. I am home with my children for the first time in my life and no sleepless nights worrying about how I’m going tomake the housepayment. And doing things I never was able to do before.
loving my husband – older and knew what we wanted this time and nice to just be in love without all the crap with it that immaturity brings
sex! way better than in my 20’s – even if everything heading south
having an input in my kids lives – instead of scrambling for sitter to make the decisions while i’m at work
going to all activites my kids are in
volunteering at sports concessions stands – fun!
working on hopsitality comm. at church – doing funeral dinners – waited tables my life and after my own loss, very good at dealing with people in pain
volunteering at nursing home where my 92 gram is – residents love the company and i love their stories of the good old days
visitng with neighbors – nice to have time to porch and actuall get to know them instead of a wave as I’m running off to work.
volunteering at school – i am library aid and room mother – we just had awesome fall party for Kindergarten
tackling projects around house
gardening
started walking every day
baking a lot – decorating cakes candy ect. hence the walking every day LOL
bubble baths – lots of bubbles with candles
dancing with kids – not great at it, but can do all the new dances
laughing!!! we had a time where we never thought we could do that
being able to remeber my daughter thats gone with a smile – still brings tears, but can remember happy times too
most of all – living each day to make a difference in those around you.
we learned that life changes in an instant. You cant take back any harsh words you have spoken – you can’t get back the hours and hours you missed while your children were little and even though they have yelled mom amillion times or asked the zillionth question of the day – while they are young – you are still the greatest thing in the world to them. After they loose it going thru puberty – you are embarassing – come back to reality later in their teens. but instead of reaching for your hand – they are asking to be dropped off several blocks form their destination. yeah, like that’s gonna happen. That justmakes me take them in curlers and pj’s. If they look sorry enough, i will put my dentures back in.
Being with my parents – i am sucking all the info i can get from them while I still have them – pie crust – pot salad – quilting – caining chairs – all the stories i want to pass on.
A shout out to all us gals in our 50’s – it just gets better and we are smarter and sexier and stronger than those skinny blondes with DD’s in thier 20’s.

At 44 I look into the mirror and think it just cant be happening to me. My skin is already showing signs of wrinkles and starting to sag a bit and only a year ago I didnt have this problem.
I enjoy so many activities such as reading, listening to music, dancing, and walking outdoors.
I think all the healthly things I do for my body, and a little help with with skin care products should fix me righ up.

HOW ABOUT 50+? Want to say I’m still going strong, miss the days of ole BUT back to the future:
Things I am doing NOW, many I didn’t do in earlier years.
Praying more; THANKING GOD for each second I’m alive;
Taking nothing for granted; Getting rid of guilt complexes;
Listening to the “OLDIES”, preferably DOO-WOP;
Getting rid of clutter (things saved for years);
Getting away from the TV – moving more;
Realizing that I am important;
Smiling everywhere I go(they don’t have to smile back);
Meditating each morn and night.

Well, I AM over 50 (I’ll be 53 on Dec 15), and the one thing I’ve learned to do that will enable me to do anything and everything else is to be fearless and confident. I’ve paid my dues, I’ve tried and failed to please everyone (some, yes, but not everyone), I’ve learned better, I know better, and though I’m more forgiving and sympathetic then I used to be(having been through some pretty horrendous experiences), the next 53 years will be lived on my terms.
Thanks for the lotion offer, and for inviting me to contribute my two cents.

Do you have any samples left? Im 54 yrs young and had basel cell skin cancer on my face 5 years ago. Im under the care of a dermatologist who has prescribed Retinyol A for my skin and wear an SPF 50 sunscreen at all times. I am fortunate for MOHS surgery. After just 1 year you could barely tell I had a big hole cut in the middle of my face. I would be delighted to try some of your skin care samples. Please send to:
