Save the ‘squeeky clean’ concept for little girls. Rub cleansing oil into skin for a few minutes before bedtime to boost circulation and increase radiance. Remove with a warm, moist washcloth for more stimulation and mild exfoliant. Apply moisturizer or serum.

3. Just rinse with cool water in the morning.

3. Soothe pain of ulcers and arthritis

Burdock is popular in Japan as a source of vitamins and nutrients as some of its active ingredients are arcigen, calcium, chlorogenic acid, essential oil, flavonoids, iron, inulin, lactone, mucilage, polyacetylenes, potassium, resin, tannin, and taraxosterol.

If you ever try SkinAgain’s Healing Serums for a personal skin issue, you will notice that it works to soothe pain immediately. Why? Because one of its super- active and all-natural ingredients is . . . yes. . . you guessed it – Burdock Root!

It is an essential ingredient in SkinAgain Healing Serums.

Another interesting use of Aloe Vera is in juice! As a great “all purpose tonic” aloe vera can strengthen levels of energy and general well being. It can relieve signs of abdominal pain, peptic ulcer, upset stomachs and constipation just by drinking its juice. Taking two to four ounces daily of aloe vera juice can provide your immune system the necessary nutrients for cleansing the digestive system. Who knew?

Is aloe vera juice part of your daily routine? Do you make your own? Tell us about it!

One of the finest antioxidants we know of is Green Tea. That’s why it’s a super element to put on your skin and a fundamental ingredient in SkinAgain Healing Serums.

But, did you know that the inside of your body can also really benefit from Green Tea, especially after the age of 30?

Here’s why:

After the age of 30, your metabolism typically drops 1-2% per decade–or about 70 daily calories every 10 years.

Drinking 3-10 daily cups of green tea, according to a growing number of studies, does appear to kick the metabolism into gear, as well as stimulate fat burning.

How about 2-5 pounds of extra calories dropped over the course of the year by doing nothing more than making sure you’re downing your Green Tea? Sound like something you can do?

Try it and let us know what you think!

As you know, SkinAgain Healing Serums are infused with the Subtle Energies of over 300 healing elements. Subtle Energies, in this case, are helpful to our skin – and even our body.

Subtle Energies are all around us. They are powerfully emitted from people (and combinations of people), and when we ‘sense something’, it’s a sign that our intuition is picking up a Subtle Energy that we need to pay attention to.

Intuition is our sixth sense, our place of inner knowing. It’s what is providing the knowledge when we know something, but we’re not sure how or why we know. In a way, it is the knowledge of the body, because many of us ‘feel’ our intuition, often in our hearts or guts. Everyone is born with the gift of intuition, but how do we strengthen it and learn to trust it? Most of us have so much other chatter going on in our heads that it can be difficult to distinguish what is truly intuitive and what is not.

How can you become more intuitive? By spending quiet time alone at home for daily meditation you’ll find yourself becoming more intuitive. Daydreaming on your desires helps too. When we are fixed on what is, we continue to create what is, but when we dare to dream, we resist the urge to dwell on why our desires can’t happen and instead determine what needs to be done to make it happen.

So if your intuition is sensing that something isn’t feeling right, meditate and dare to daydream. In other words, own your intuition, pay attention to Subtle Energy and things can open up for you.

Every week, I take care of my elderly parents and one necessary inclusion in this routine is their weekly feet grooming. Now, I’m not going to go into details about what this requires, but I will say that it is a true act of love! Trust me, if I wasn’t already taking care of my feet with regular pedicures, this ritual has engrained into me how we should never take our feet for granted and always make sure they get regular TLC!

Without consciously being aware of it, we give our feet a beating every day. From hitting the pavement, flexing, bending, carrying the weight of our lives and then, of course, our oh-so-cute shoes . . .

In ancient times, gratitude for these funky body parts were a daily ritual, and they knew what they were doing. They somehow knew that treating these kind ‘supporters’ of our souls did more than just prevent soil from entering the home. They knew that the footbath unwound the stress, cleared scattered energy, grounded them and prevented some very unwanted side-effects later on in life.

Simple immersion into warm water can be an effective way to calm not just the feet and body, but the mind as well.

For maximum benefit, you can tailor your soak to the season. In winter, just the warmth can do the trick. For Spring, add Epsom salts to boost detoxification. In Summer, add peppermint oil to boost circulation and energize your spirit. In the Autumn, add a teaspoon of almond oil and light some candles.

To conclude any sole-soaking ritual, always use an all-natural moisturizer like SkinAgain’s pHo-tone Energizing Healing Serum, to hydrate the skin.

DO THIS: Bend your right knee, lift your left leg off the floor, and wrap it around your right leg. Your left foot may wrap completely around your right shin, or it may rest to the outside of your right leg. Squeeze your thighs together, drawing energy back to your core. Now bring your arms out in front of you, with your elbows bent and hands pointing toward the ceiling. Cross your right arm over your left and wrap your arms until your palms meet. Gently move your arms up until elbows are at shoulder height, and then soften your shoulders down your back. This pose draws all of that energy we put out into the world back into our being. Stay here for up to 10 breaths, and then unwind and switch sides.

2. Balance Your Cortices: This easy technique balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain, and general brain function. We believe everyone should be able to balance the cortices; the results can be immediate and profound in restoring healthy balance and boosting energy.
Click here to watch a quick video on this powerful, yet simple technique that could change your day!

If you know of something that naturally and quickly restores balance and energy, let us know!

It’s definitely good to maintain high standards. After all, especially when it comes to your body, health & skin, you want to be the best you can be.

The problem: The best YOU can be is not the same as the best I can be. We’re all different, but like in the many episodes of “Seinfeld,” both George and Jerry are seen breaking up with women because they are a “low-talker,” another had “man-hands,” one used Jerry’s toothbrush, another had a weird toe. These women got the axe because they didn’t meet the impossible standards of these comical and neurotic characters.

As we women (who have a love/hate relationship with the media) know, these sitcoms, movies and advertisements really do set standards high.

Did you watch the Academy Awards? At 46-years-old Demi Moore is the very image of age-defying beauty – (but it’s no secret that Mrs. Kutcher has indulged in the odd nip tuck over the years). In a bizarre real-life case of the Benjamin Button effect, Demi seems to have aged backwards. Stepping out on stage Demi’s face, body and skin appeared plumper, tighter and smoother than it has in years.

Would you say she is the best SHE can be? I would say ‘yes’. She can afford it. But all of us fellow 47 year olds now have to work really hard on feeling good about the best ‘WE’ can be (knowing that if we stood next to Demi we’d look like her mother!).

The media . . . love/hate. . . do I have to say more?

Have you experienced this scenario?:

You and your partner are walking, hand in hand, down the street or in a mall. The chit-chat is casual. All of sudden, your partner’s gaze looks up and turns sideways as he views the manikins in the window of a lingerie store. In fact, yours does too!

Has the media made the sexy female body too hard to measure up to? Or, do we like it this way because it serves as a motivation for us women to stay in the best shape we can?

The following question was asked to Drew Pinsky, MD, the straight-shooting co-host of Loveline, a two-hour radio show on sex and relationships:

For men, what’s the difference between okay sex and great sex?

Dr. Drew: Well, it is about how the woman looks to the man. It’s who he’s with that makes the difference…Men do a very, very careful evaluation of physicality…Men look at beauty in terms of genetic loading for fertility and health, although we’re not doing it consciously—because men almost never consciously want to have children. So it’s things like facial symmetry and glowing skin, signs of good health and the ability to carry a child, that translate to attractiveness for a male. Very primitive stuff.

Then he rates, on a scale from 1 – 10, how important the following things are to a man:

A fit body? A woman who works out?

Dr. Drew: That’s an 8.

A woman who doesn’t feel good about her body?

Dr. Drew: That’s up there in the turnoff category: 7 or 8.

Now, I ask you. . . Is there an oxy-moron here? We must have a fit body, facial symmetry, glowing skin, signs of good health and the ability to carry a child. And, if we don’t measure up, God help us if we show any signs of not feeling good about that!

How do you feel the media has influenced the bedroom? We’d love to know, so please comment!

And please check back next Monday for:
Women’s Love/Hate Relationship with the Media
Part 4 – The Mirror.
