Energy Infused Skin Care

SkinAgain is all about energy infused skin care.

But, what if, it’s not your skin that’s lacking energy, it’s YOU!  You feel exhausted!   But instead of letting your entire day go, or turning to caffeine to fuel your energy lapse, try these two simple techniques to gain a bit more energy.  We promise, they only take a minute or two.

1.        Eagle Pose:  A simple yoga posture designed to help bring your energy back in to your core.

DO THISBend your right knee, lift your left leg off the floor, and wrap it around your right leg. Your left foot may wrap completely around your right shin, or it may rest to the outside of your right leg. Squeeze your thighs together, drawing energy back to your core. Now bring your arms out in front of you, with your elbows bent and hands pointing toward the ceiling. Cross your right arm over your left and wrap your arms until your palms meet. Gently move your arms up until elbows are at shoulder height, and then soften your shoulders down your back. This pose draws all of that energy we put out into the world back into our being. Stay here for up to 10 breaths, and then unwind and switch sides.

2.       Balance Your Cortices:  This easy technique balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain, and general brain function.  We believe everyone should be able to balance the cortices; the results can be immediate and profound in restoring healthy balance and boosting energy.

Is your mind wandering back to all of the projects you need to tackle this week (or some you procrastinated on last week), while trying to deal with the task at hand?

A distracted mind typically makes you less productive, and more stressed.

Yoga Breathing Exerces

Here’s how to change your frequency and calm your mind–quickly.

Yoga practitioners believe that alternate nostril breathing is one of the quickest ways to balance your left and right brain, and calm the mind. It takes less than 5 minutes from which you’ll emerge feeling refreshed and ready to move forward with your day.

Here’s why: Breath flowing through the right nostril is more stimulating while breath moving through the left nostril is more quieting or sedating. To alternate between the two encourages equanimity, clarity of thought, a feeling of being centered and even an experience of mental and subtle body purification. The Sanskrit name for this breath, nadi shodhana, speaks to this, because it translates to mean cleansing the nadis, which allows us to then experience greater balance.

Here’s how: Find a comfortable seated position with your spine long and straight. Use your thumb of your right hand to gently seal your right nostril. Begin by exhaling through your left nostril as long as it is comfortable. Then inhale through your left nostril as long as it is comfortable. Switch the position of your hand by gently sealing your left nostril with the ring finger of your right hand, releasing your thumb from the right nostril. Exhale through your right nostril for as long as it is comfortable and then inhale through your right nostril—again, for as long as it is comfortable.

Discovering new favorites after 50…

Filed under: Aging, Anti-Aging, Anti-Wrinkle, Fine Lines, Healing Cream — Tags: , , , , , , , — admin @ 3:40 pm

I just went camping in the Sequoia National Forest with friends and fam.

Despite being chased out of our campsite by a bear (no, I’m not exaggerating!), it was the R&R I needed.  No mirrors. . .

Sometimes at 51 I find it hard to look at myself.  I’ve been on camera a lot lately, so I’m kind of forced to.

However, I am quite happy to be of this age and discovering who I am in my 50’s. After all, old is the new sexy, right? (. . . right??)

Here’s what I’ve discovered I like to do in my 50’s:

1. Bathe, not shower

2. Wash my hair twice a week

3. Exfoliate a lot

4. Act like a puppy

5. Put my sweats on as soon as I get home

6. Have a facial once a week

7. Yoga

8. Selected sex (subject for future blog…stay tuned)

9.  Tapping (subject for future blog…stay tuned)

10. Breathe deep

So, to all my 50-something sister/friends out there. . . please comment.

Tell me your 50-something age and the top 10 things you’ve discovered you like to do at this age, and I’ll send the first 20 commenting bloggers a 2 oz travel size of  SkinAgain’s Original Healing Cream with peptides to diminish fine lines and tighten skin (and a whole lot of other things too).

Who knows?  Maybe we’ll all find some new favorite things to do at 50+!

Peace & Love,  Sherrie
